The National Park Service
is committed to providing oportunities for students to make
meaningful connections to their national parks. The chance
to meet and visit with a real park ranger can be a powerful
experience.
Rangers come to schools as much more
than traditional guest speakers. They come prepared to contribute
to your curriculum-based programming by addressing standards
using park examples. This requires some discussion between
the teacher and the ranger in advance of the visit. In some
cases, park scientists or other experts may be available as
well as park rangers.
Please note that ranger participation
in your classroom may be limited by time, distance and subject
area. If you are looking for information about a park not
listed below, please feel free to contact the park directly.
