Haul Road Design Crew

Who designs the haul roads at your mine? Do you have a crew that designs the roads and lays them out in a preplanned manner? Or, do you, like many companies, have a dozer operator who makes all the roads at the mine? The foreman says, “I need a road from here to there,” and the dozer operator makes one. The operator hasn't had any training on how a mine haul road should be designed, and may build one that is too narrow or too steep for the haul trucks.
