Audio conferencing, also referred to as teleconferencing, is a means of connecting more than two people on the same phone call. All you need to do is choose the type of audio conference call that best suits your needs:
Up to six people (including yourself)
Most phones at the NIH will allow you to conference with two others, while some ISDN phones can connect up to six parties.
Setting up a six-way conference call:
More than six people
E-mail nihteleconf@mail.nih.gov or call 301-496-4517 to setup a conference call with the NIH preferred vendor. You will need to provide the date, time, leader name, telephone number and number of participants, (including the leader). Submit an NIH Audio Conferencing form using these instructions. Use this option if you will need operator assistance, or you are not a frequent user of audio conferencing.
If you are a frequent user and would like to set up an instant meeting account that will allow you to have an on-demand audio conference, please submit a Telephone Service Request (TSR) to set up an account with the NIH preferred vendor and obtain a toll-free dial in access number and pass codes.
To avoid unwanted charges, all conference calls must be placed using the methods above and the NIH preferred vendor.
