of the Director (OD) is responsible for setting policy for
NIH and for planning, managing, and coordinating the programs
and activities of all 27 of NIH's Institutes and Centers. The
OD program offices include the Office
of AIDS Research, Office
of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research, Office
of Disease Prevention, and Office
of Research on Women's Health, among others.
