- CONTRACTS AWARDED
- Three awards totaling over $550,000 were made around the country for studies associated with new buildings and renovations: one was in Roanoke, VA; one in Billings, MT; and one in Bakersfield, CA.
-- On April 28, 2009, awards were processed for additional construction for the Peace Arch Port of Entry ($26,284,708) and the design services for the exterior repairs and energy efficient systems at the Philadelphia, PA, US Customs House ($1,382,816).
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OFFICE (PMO) - GSA has established a national PMO dedicated to managing Recovery Act projects. The PMO has national and local elements, to ensure that the necessary expertise and infrastructure are coordinated and available when and where they are needed. The PMO is staffed and operational.
- GSA is assisting Federal agencies with the identification of vehicles for replacement using ARRA funds. GSA is also working with the Environmental Protection Agency to quantify improvements in fuel economy and emission reductions.

Major Planned Actions: |
- CONTRACT AWARDS - GSA has identified additional contracts that can be awarded within 120 days and is taking necessary actions to ensure the expeditious obligation of funds while maximizing competition.
- - Agencies must select the type of replacement vehicles and provide this data to GSA by April 29, 2009.
- GSA will perform an evaluation of the improvements to fuel economy and emission reductions that will be achieved. Upon completing the evaluation, vehicle replacement decisions will be made in mid May and submitted to agencies for concurrence by May 22, 2009.
- Following the concurrence of agencies on orders to be placed, GSA will obligate funds and submit orders to manufactures for the replacement vehicles by June 1, 2009.
- We are taking actions to establish an Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings in GSA.
