Allotments

The CIAP Technical Documentation (242 KB) of the Methodology for Allocation Formulas is organized into five sections. Section 1 describes the statutory language and data sources referred to in determining the eligible recipients under the CIAP. Section 2 offers an overview of how the statutory language was interpreted and translated into a methodology and supporting calculations. Section 3 provides details for each of the data sources used in the calculations. Section 4 provides detailed explanations of the spatial calculations used to determine the minimum distance from each leased tract to each producing State and coastal political subdivision (CPS), and the length of the coastline of each CPS. Section 5 specifies the formulas developed to determine the final allocations to each recipient.

Click on the “Fiscal Year Allotment Allocations” listed below to access the allotment amounts by State and the totals for the State’s CPSs. To see the exact amount for which each CPS is eligible, click on the Producing State name, and you will be linked to the listing of the State’s CPSs and allotment amounts.
