Contracts

The Office of Acquisition and Contract Management (OACM) administers the Peace Corps’ work through contracts and interagency agreements, both domestic and overseas.  OACM administers short term contracts for a variety of temporary positions occasionally requested by Peace Corps overseas posts.  If you are interested in short-term training positions as a United States Personal Service Contractor (USPSC), remember that most Peace Corps field offices hire staff locally. In the event a post is unable to identify qualified local personnel, a USPSC is contracted to fill the temporary position.

Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and solicitations over $25,000 will be posted in FedBiz Opps.

Typical training contract positions include:

  • Pre-Service Training Directors
  • Pre-Service Training Technical Trainers/Coordinators in a variety of disciplines
  • ACTFL Certified Tester Trainers

Other short term contract positions may include:

  • Administrators
  • Medical Contractors
  • Workshop Facilitators
  • Organizational Development Specialists
  • Curriculum Development Specialists
  • Instructional System Designers
  • Technology Training Specialists
  • Writers/Editors for Materials Development
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Specialists

USPSCs serve overseas and are compensated with a daily rate based on the candidate's relevant salary history and work experience in conjunction with the established compensation range for the position. Additionally, insurance, immunizations, travel, and a small per diem are usually provided. Should your skills match those required for an upcoming consultancy, you will be contacted to verify your availability for and interest in the position.  Selecting candidates for a contract can take from three months to six months.
