The purpose of FY 2009 Driver’s License Security Grant Program is to prevent terrorism, reduce fraud, and improve the reliability and accuracy of personal identification documents States and territories issue.
Eligible applicants under the FY 2009 Driver’s License Security Grant Program are State Motor Vehicle/Drivers License Issuing Authorities, also known as the State Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA), or the State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). A consortium of States and territories may work together to submit one grant application. The grant applicant will need to identify an individual in the MVA or DMV with overall programmatic and fiscal oversight of FY 2009 Driver’s License Security Grant Program funding awarded to the State.
