Major Actions Taken to Date: |
- The Department of Defense (DoD) has obligated $63.1M during the week ending April 24, 2009 bringing the cumulative obligations of Recovery Act funds to $109.4M. The $109.4M in obligations reflects over 220 contracts to non-Federal vendors of which over 90% are identified as small businesses of which over 40% are to Hispanic owned small businesses.
- The Department of the Navy has obligated $4.1M during this week for a cumulative obligation total of $36.4M. Contracts have been awarded for one military construction project to replace underground steam lines at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD for $1.1 M and one Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) for Engine Efficiency Improvements for $0.7M. The remaining obligations of $2.3M are to the Naval Facilities Engineering Command for pre/post award contract support on multiple projects.
- Air Force has awarded 175 Facilities Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization( FSRM) contracts for $57.7M this reporting period. The cumulative obligations to date are $71.3M which is 4.6% of the total ARRA funding for Air Force. Contracts awarded this week include, but not limited to, $4.2M for airfield paving and repair of water mains at Barksdale, AFB, LA; $3.9M for painting and repairs at Tyndall, AFB, FL; $1.7M to replace water mains and building improvements at Sheppard, AFB, TX; and other minor projects at these facilities: Dover AFB, DE; Charleston AFB, SC; Randolph AFB, TX; Vandenberg, AFB, CA; McDill AFB, FL; Langley AFB, VA; Grand Forks AFB, ND; and Warner Robbins AFB, GA.

Major Planned Actions: |
- Army is expected to award its first ARRA Military Construction project for components of a Warrior in Transition complex at Fort Bliss, TX by the May1st reporting period.
- Navy plans to award multiple contracts for $43.4M on FSRM projects including the following: Repair Pavement, Runway 16-34, Pacific Missile Range Facility, HI for $20.7M; Repair Wharf B4 and Pier B5, Naval Station Pearl Harbor, HI for $11.3M; Repair Wharf S1, Naval Station Pearl Harbor, HI for $10.6M; and Repair and Modernize 13 Living Units Bachelor Quarters, Building 554, Naval Base Point Loma, CA for $0.8M.
- The Services continue to gather information in preparation for the 30 Apr submittal of the report to the Office of White House Council on Environmental Quality (National Environmental Protection Act/National Historic Preservation Act requirements).
- The Department will release the list of remaining facility improvement projects estimated at $835M. These new projects represents the remaining of the first ARRA infrastructure investment list announced by the DoD on March 20, 2009
- Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management is developing a list of renewable energy projects to be awarded by the Department of Energy with their ARRA funding.
