Vice President Biden, Railroad Administrator, Members of Congress Announce Funding for Amtrak in Recovery Act
Standing at Washington, DC's Union Station, one of the most traveled railway stations in the nation, Vice President Joe Biden announced that Amtrak will receive $1.3 billion in grant funding from the recently enacted American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to expand passenger rail capacity.

Energy Secretary Chu, Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle to Help Weatherize Milwaukee Home
Visit Follows Announcement of Nearly $200 Million for Wisconsin Weatherization and Energy Investments.
Washington, DC - Following the Administration's announcement that Wisconsin will receive $197 million in weatherization and energy efficiency funding from the President's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Governor Jim Doyle will welcome U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu to Milwaukee to help weatherize a local resident's home tomorrow, Friday, March 13, 2009 at 12:45 p.m.. The Governor and Secretary Chu, along with Congresswoman Gwen Moore and the homeowner, will briefly tour the outside of the home and view four rooms undergoing weatherization improvements.

OMB Releases Website Guidelines to States
OMB released the four-page "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Recovery.gov Recommended Guidelines for Related State Web Pages"on Thursday in a collaborative effort with states to improve coordination between state and Federal Recovery-related web sites.

Administration Announces Nearly $8 Billion in Weatherization Funding and Energy Efficiency Grants
Will support energy efficiency efforts nationwide that will create 87,000 jobs and cut energy bills for families.
Vice President Joe Biden and Energy Secretary Chu today detailed an investment of nearly $8 billion in state and local weatherization and energy efficiency efforts as part of the President's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. With an investment of about $5 billion through the Weatherization Assistance Program and about $3 billion for the State Energy Program, the Department of Energy will partner with state and local governments to put 87,000 Americans to work and save families hundreds of dollars per year on their energy bills.
