Mr. Floyd
Pumphrey of Lead Hill, Arkansas has been a cooperative observer for the National Weather
Service for 20 years. He has measured temperature and precipitation and mailed his
measurements to the National Weather Service at the end of each month. These
measurements are sent to the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina
and eventually published to become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather. For his efforts, Mr.
Pumphrey received a 20 Year Length-of-Service Award in June, 2001. In the future,
Mr. Pumphrey will take precipitation measurements at Harrison. |
