Mr.
(Chuck) and Mrs. (Debra) Lang of Georgetown (White County in central Arkansas)
have been cooperative observers
for the National Weather Service for 10 years. They have been measuring and
logging daily rainfall and river stage data for the National Weather
Service during that time. The data is then forwarded to the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina
and eventually published to become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather. For
their efforts, the Langs received a 10 Year Length-of-Service Award from the National Weather
Service in December of 2005. |
