The availability
of jobs in rural America may be the single most important factor
in increasing economic growth and raising the standard of
living. With that said, the creation and improvement of viable
businesses and cooperatives in rural America is a top priority
for USDA Rural Developmentās Business and Cooperative Programs.
USDA Rural
Development works in partnership with the private sector and
community-based organizations to provide financial assistance
and business planning. Business Programs help fund projects
that create or preserve quality jobs and/or promote a clean
rural environment.
The financial
resources of USDA Rural Development are often leveraged with
those of other public and private credit source lenders to meet
business and credit needs in under-served areas. Recipients of
these programs may include individuals, corporations,
partnerships, cooperatives, public bodies, non-profit
corporations, Indian tribes, and private companies. Eligibility for our programs is determined by rural
communities with the most need.
USDA Rural
Development utilizes various loan and grant programs while
working through partnerships with public and private
community-based organizations and financial institutions to
provide financial assistance, business planning and technical
assistance to rural businesses. |
