Description
Based on Clinical Center and selected Institute needs, the
Clinical Center is developing
a Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Service (CEBS). The
CEBS is designed primarily to address unmet needs of CC investigators;
however, Institute partners who have unmet needs in this area
will participate. Services to be offered include:
- study design
- data collection advice
- computerized data management
- data entry
- biostatistical analysis
- data presentation
Accomplishments-to-Date
- Needs assessment conducted in the Clinical Center
- Issue discussed in detail at annual Clinical Center/Institute
planning meetings to identify Institutes with unmet needs
- Planning meeting convened with interested Institute and CC
staff
- Proposal developed delineating scope of CEBS and resources
required (FTE, space, equipment)

- Hire Chief, Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Service
- Hire core staff
- Identify and secure adequate space and resources
- Implement service
