Congressman Abercrombie met in Washington on Feb. 2, 2005 with officials from Okinawa, including Diet Member Mitsuko Tomon (in white jacket).  The Okinawa delegation expressed strong concerns about the safety hazards posed by U.S. military installations in heavily populated parts of the island.  Abercrombie agreed and promised to continue his efforts to present their case to U.S. Defense officials and Members of Congress.
