To request a new Blackberry Device, the following paperwork must be submitted and final approved by the Division Director, DCTD.
Note: PDAs may be issued to NCI senior staff, middle and line managers, and other employees at the GS-13 level or above: (a) who have a program responsibility to respond to situations quickly; (b) who have a job-related need to access NIH/NCI computing facilities, other information technology systems, or staff from locations other than the normal worksite where phones or other connections are not available; (c) who must be on-call for operations support or emergency response; or (d) who have a need to enhance communications with the extramural community. The justification which must accompany this request must describe specific job responsibilities and explain why it is critical that the employee be in contact while away from the worksite. A generic description of features of the requested PDA is not sufficient.
