Volunteer Program Mission
Citizens who volunteer are valuable assets to the Oregon State Library. The Library Board of Trustees and the State Librarian promote and encourage the involvement of volunteers to assist staff in the achievement of the mission and the goals of the State Library.

Who Can Volunteer?
Youth:
If you are 14 years or older you may volunteer. It is a great way to gain work experience and learn about working in state government.

Adults:
If you want to share your skills or learn new ones, work on an issue that is important to you, or contribute to your fellow citizens of Oregon you may volunteer.

Groups:
Church, community, service, support, and youth groups can work together to assist on current programs or special projects.

Students:
The State Library is an active supporter of School to Work, career related learning. Students are welcome to explore through mentorships, site visits, informational interviews, job shadows, structured work experience, and internships.
