Genealogy Information Assistant
The Genealogical Research Center is a partnership project of the State Library and the Willamette Valley Genealogical Society. Resources and assistance are available to anyone doing family history research. This position assists library patrons with genealogy research using CD's, databases, books, reference materials, online catalogs, and microfilm. Qualifications: Good knowledge and background in genealogy research, database search and research experience, ability to work with public in person, by phone and email. Training provided. Shifts available: Tuesdays 10:00-1:00, Fridays 1:00-4:30. Oregon State Library Building, 250 Winter Street NE. Computer Assistant to Grants Coordinator
Scanning documents using Acrobat Program, then link the information to a Web page. Qualifications: Computer searching skills including basic HTML experience. Training provided. Set your own schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Oregon State Library Building, 250 Winter Street NE. Cassette Book Inspector
Inspect returned cassette books for the Talking Book and Braille Services, Oregon State Library. Talking Books is a free library services for anyone who is visually impaired. Work consists of opening book box, checking for correct title, author, condition of the tape and then rewinding the tapes using a winding machine. Monday, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
