Patient Consultations
The Brain Tumor Clinic offers a coordinated and multi-disciplinary approach
to the care of patients who are afflicted with adult and pediatric
brain tumors. Patients at the Brain Tumor Clinic are evaluated
by a team of dedicated multidisciplinary specialists in medical
and pediatric neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, radiation oncology,
neuroradiology, opthalmology, social services, nursing services
and other support groups.
At the Brain Tumor Clinic, patients are examined and their cases are reviewed
every Wednesday and Friday. Recommendations are made based on a review of history,
radiographic and pathologic findings. Results of the findings and recommendation
for therapeutic options, including clinical trials, are discussed with the patient
and, if the patient consents, referring physician(s).
Clinicians at the Brain Tumor Clinic participate in various clinical trials
developed by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the North American Brain Tumor
Consortium (NABTC), the New Approaches to Brain Tumor Therapy (NABTT) consortium
and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC). Since our physicians are active
members of these consortiums, we are capable of combining and focusing the experience,
resources and capabilities of many outstanding medical institutions throughout
the country. To find out about our Brain Tumor Clinic staff, please click on
