This resource sheet provides diabetes related resources tailored to the AAPI community. It includes educational materials, government, literature, nutrition, providers, research centers, institutions, professional associations, and community-based organizations.

Building Awareness Locally and Nationally through Community Empowerment (BALANCE)

Products of the BALANCE Program include a policy position paper on diabetes, a diabetes cultural assessment from 13 AAPI communities through focus groups and key informant interviews, translated culturally appropriate press releases, a recommended list of multilingual diabetes educational materials, a media spokespersons' kit, and Steps to Manage Your Diabetes educational material in Chinese, Korean, Samoan, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders are at an increased risk for type 2 diabetes. Use these materials designed specifically for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (available in English and 14 Asian languages) to spread the good news that diabetes prevention is proven, possible, and powerful.

Take Care of Your Heart. Manage Your Diabetes Campaign
(National Diabetes Education Program is a joint program of NIH and CDC, DHHS)
Asian American and Pacific Islanders with diabetes are at an increased risk for heart attacks and strokes. The "Take Care of Your Heart. Manage Your Diabetes" campaign encourages them to take steps to lower not only their blood glucose but also their blood pressure and cholesterol.
