The following table lists the documentation included with the Intel(R) Debugger (IDB) for Linux*.

Note

The placeholder term "<install-dir>" is used in the debugger documentation to represent the path to the debugger that you determine during installation. For example, <install-dir> for a default installation as 'root' is /opt/intel/idb/10.1.nnn/, where nnn represents a three digit build number. All debugger's files are installed below <install-dir>.

Document Description
Intel® Debugger (IDB) Manual This is the main reference and user's document for the Intel Debugger. The IDB Manual is provided as WebHelp .htm files. The IDB Manual contains information on how to prepare your program and start the debugger, use debugger commands to accomplish various tasks, view data and call stack.
After product installation, the Intel Debugger (IDB) Manual is located at:

README Brief overview of the product, directory map for key product components, and pointers to information of importance to users both before and after product installation.
After product installation the README document is located at:
<install-dir>doc/README.txt
Product Release Notes The Product Release Notes (idb_release_notes.htm) contain the most up-to-date information about the product. The information in the Release Notes includes:

  • Overview information (including new features and product contents)
  • System requirements (hardware and software requirements for installing and using the product)
  • Known limitations
  • Technical support (links to contacts for reporting problems and getting support)
