Stage II training in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Advance Registration Required for all managers and supervisors (FTEs only).
Introduction to the Responsible Conduct of Research Online Intro to the Responsible Conduct of Research Training This training is required for all staff who have direct and substantive involvement in proposing, performing, reviewing, or reporting research, or who receive research training.
Introduction to Laboratory Safety Online Intro to Laboratory Safety Training Required for all non-administrative staff.
Protection of Human Research Subjects Online Protection of Human Research Subjects Training Required for all research staff; is designed to help IRP investigators understand and comply with the ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements for research involving human subjects.
Technology Transfer Online Technology Transfer Training Principal Investigators are required to complete all six subjects, i.e. MTAs, CRADAs, Patents and Inventions, Licensing, Royalties, and Ethics. Fellows, graduate students, and Staff Scientists/Staff Clinicians are required to complete MTAs, Patents and Inventions, and a portion of the Ethics module. Although all six subjects are not required, this group is encouraged to complete them.

Working Safely with Nonhuman Primates OACU Primate Training Required for all personnel who are scheduled to begin working with primates (NHP) but have little or no experience.
CPR Classroom CPR Training

Radiation Safety Radiation Safety Training Required for all staff working with or around radioactive sources.
Clinical Research Information System CRIS Training  
Universal Precautions Call the Hospital Epidemiology Service at 301-496-2209 to schedule training Required for all health care workers whose jobs entail either patient care or clinical laboratory responsibilities.
Clinical Research Clinical Research Training Required for all research staff and all clinical investigators involved with a clinical protocol.
Mandated Personal Security Training for Temporary Duty Travel of 30 Days or More Fogarty Personal Security Training Required for everyone on an appointment who will be working more than 30 days overseas.
Definitions:
FTEs (Full-Time Equivalency) are hired through a variety of mechanisms, including but not limited to: GS, Title-42 (AD), and the Commissioned Corps. A few job titles that are FTEs include Tenured Investigator, Tenure-Track Investigator, Staff Scientist, Staff Clinician, Biologist, Psychologist, Social Worker, Statistician, Biological Lab Technician, Program Assistant, Secretary, Purchasing Agent, Administrative Technician, Administrative Officer, Budget Analyst, Clinical Fellow and Research Fellow. This is not a complete list of all FTE job titles.
Non-FTEs are those who are not hired through a Full-Time Equivalency mechanism. Common job titles of non-FTEs include Post-bac IRTA, Technical IRTA, Pre-doc IRTA, Post-doc IRTA, and Visiting Fellow. Special Volunteers and Guest Researchers are sometimes included in this category, but they do not receive remuneration from the NIMH.
Contractors are those who are hired by an outside organization, who perform work for the NIMH.
