Small research grants are for
- New investigators who have not been principal investigator on an NCI funded cancer control research grant
- Established scientists refocusing their research interests to include behavioral research in cancer
- Predoctoral investigators enrolled in an accredited doctoral degree program
Investigators from a variety of academic, scientific, and public health disciplines are eligible to apply.
The principal investigator must have a formal written appointment with the applicant organization, which:
- Must be in the form of an official relationship between the parties
- Need not involve a salary or other form of remuneration
