USAID provides a focused approach to essential issues, addressing the root causes of instability and building the foundation for a prosperous Iraq. It bridges the transition from the short-term provision of essential services to long-term, integrated, and Iraqi-led development. USAID's overarching goal is to contribute to stability and security as part of the U.S. government National Strategy for Victory in Iraq.
USAID is a key element of the United States plan for victory in Iraq. Emphasizing responsiveness and sustainability, USAID/Iraq's new strategy calls for an expanded role in supporting focused stabilization, establishing the foundation for economic growth, and building national capacity. These efforts, in the short-term, will help stabilize areas impacted by the insurgency and mitigate the appeal of insurgent recruitment efforts. Over the longer term, the establishment of democratic institutions and sustainable economic development will form the foundations of a stable, democratic, and prosperous Iraq.

USAID Agribusiness Project Draws Iraqi, Foreign Companies to Exposition - November 1, 2008
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) through its Inma Agribusiness Project will open doors to 200 agribusiness companies, for the first time, at Erbil Agro Food Expo on Nov. 4-7. The exposition will demonstrate the Iraqi commitment to attract foreign investment to the country, advancing U.S. government’s efforts to bring economic opportunities and stability to the region.
Economic Opportunity Replaces Conflict in Iraq - May 9, 2008
The U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) Agribusiness Program, 'Inma,' is leading the way to economic recovery in the city of Balad, 50 miles north of Baghdad. A $5 million grant to restart operations at the Balad Canning Factory (BCF) is part of a larger regional project that will help restore agricultural and agribusiness operations throughout this formerly strife-torn area.
USAID Program in Iraq Tops $150 Million in Micro-loans - March 25, 2008
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced today that its private-sector development program in Iraq, known as Izdihar ("prosperity" in Arabic), has helped provide more than $150 million in micro-loans since the start of U.S. government microfinance assistance to Iraq in 2003. The loans, which typically range from $500 to $3,000, are primarily used by Iraqis to start or expand small businesses. The program maintains a repayment rate of nearly 99 percent.

ان الهدف من المساعدات الامريكية الى العراق هو مساعدة الحكومة العراقية لبناء بلد ديمقراطى، يتمتع بالاستقرار والازدهار، و يعيش بسلام مع نفسه وجيرانه ، وينعم بفوائد المجتمع الحر واقتصاد السوق. ومنذ عام 2003 ، كانت الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية مساهماً رئيسياً في تنسيق جهود حكومة الولايات المتحدة في اعادة الاعمار. ان الوكالة الامريكية للتنميةالدولية ملتزمة بتحسين حياة العراقيين من خلال تشجيع النمو الاقتصادي ، ودعم الديمقراطيه ، تأهيل انظمة الصحة والتعليم ، وتقديم المساعدات الانسانيه الى السكان المشردين والضعفاء ، واحياء وتطوير البنية التحتية مثل الصرف الصحي والكهرباء والمياه الصالحة للشرب.
المرحلة الأولى من مساعدات الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية للعراق في بلغت اكثر من 5 مليارات دولار لاعادة الاعمار وتقديم المساعدات الانسانيه من خلال 60 برنامج للمنح والعقود لدعم برامج اعادة تاهيل وبناء شبكات الكهرباء والمياه والصرف الصحي والادارة المحلية والصحة والتعليم والتغذيه. وكجزءاولي من هذه المرحلة انهت الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية اكثر من 12،000 من الانشطه الجاريه في البلد. عشرات الآلاف من العراقيين تمكنوا من العثور على عمل مجز من خلال هذه البرامج. و عملت الوكالة الامريكية للتنميةالدولية ايضا عن كثب مع كل من القوات الاميركية والمدنيين ووكالات الامم المتحدة والمنظمات غير الحكوميه ، والعراقيين انفسهم.

تقوم على تزويد نهج مركز باتجاه القضايا الاساسية ، ومعالجة الاسباب الجذريه لعدم الاستقرار ، ووضع الاسس اللازمة لبناء عراق مزدهر. هي جسور للانتقال من المدى القصير في توفير الخدمات الاساسية المتكاملة الى توفيرهاعلى المدى الطويل، والمتكامل، وتكون التنمية بقيادة العراقيين. الهدف الاساسي للوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية هو المساهمة في الاستقرار والامن كجزء من الستراتيجيه الوطنية للادارة الامريكية للنصر في العراق.
ان ستراتيجيةالوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية عنصر اساسي في خطة الولايات المتحدة للنصر في العراق.و تأكيد على الاستجابة والديمومه ، كما وتدعو الاستراتيجيه الى توسيع دورها في دعم الاستقرار و ارساء أسس النمو الاقتصادي ، وبناء القدرات الوطنية. وعلى المدى الأطول ، انشاء مؤسسات ديمقراطيه و ادامة
التنمية الاقتصادية سوف تشكل اساساً لعراق مزهر، ديمقراطي ومستقر.
