There is much to see in our nation's capital of Washington D.C. Below are the most popular government buildings, museums, and memorials, with information and links to each site. Many of these places also offer public tours. The staff in my office are always happy to give tours of the United States Capitol Building. For more information on tours, please see the tour request form. Since tours of the White House are particularly hard to get, particularly at certain times of the year, we ask that you get your requests to our office as far in advance of your visit as possible. Three to six months notice is best for these tours.
UPDATE WHITE HOUSE TOURS JANUARY 2009:
*We are always glad to assist our constituents in scheduling tours for their visit to Washington, DC.
Unfortunately, at this time, the new administration has not set up their White House tours system and they are asking Congressional offices to hold all tour requests.
I am still happy to take your request and will hold it to submit as soon as the White House re-opens its Visitor Center. I am so sorry for the inconvenience, but please let me know if I can assist you in any other way. Thanks so much.
Please do not hesitate to call my office with any questions you may have.
