Electric Power Monthly (01/15/2009)
The latest EPM issue (January 2009) is now available on EIA's http://www.eia.doe.gov/fuelelectric.html. Data being published in the January 2009 EPM include October 2009 data. Historical copies of the EPM tables in Excel format have also been posted on the EIA website, dating back to the May 2003 publication of the EPM. This special report examines recent trends in U.S. international trade of natural gas. Natural gas imports and exports data, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) data, are provided through 2007.


OPEC Revenues Fact Sheet (01/13/2009) (PDF - 0 meg)
Based on projections from the EIA January 2009 Short Term Energy Outlook (STEO), members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) could earn $387 billion of net oil export revenues in 2009 and $526 billion in 2010. Last year, OPEC earned $972 billion in net oil export revenues, a 42 percent increase from 2007. Saudi Arabia earned the largest share of these earnings, $288 billion, representing 30 percent of total OPEC revenues. On a per-capita basis, OPEC net oil export earning reached $2,691, a 40 percent increase from 2007.

Residential Natural Gas Prices: What Consumers Should Know (12/30/2008)
This updated brochure provides a brief discussion of where natural gas for residential consumption comes from and the costs that make up residential prices. The factors behind recent and expected price movements are discussed, followed by EIA's estimates for expected expenditures on natural gas by residential customers. The brochure ends with some suggestions for consumers to mitigate the impact of natural gas bills this winter.
