USADF's Benin Program

Established in 1986, USADF’s Benin program provides financial and technical support to rural cooperatives and small urban businesses that produce and process food and other consumables for the domestic and export markets.  Beginning in 1990, Benin began making the transition to democracy and a free enterprise system. This has led the way to the creation of private enterprises that are positively impacting the country's development. Grassroots organizations in Benin are engaged in a range of activities that hold great promise for stimulating sustained local economic and social development with increased access to financial, technical, and other resources.
