Attaching the map

a) Be sure that the drafting surface is smooth and free of dirt, eraser grit, paper clips, etc.

b) Align the map carefully with the T-square, and check the alignment.

c) Using draftsman's or masking tape, put a short piece of tape at each map corner, along the map's diagonal lines

d) Flatten the tape in corner 1 onto the drafting surface. Be sure not to let the map move.

e) Hold the map with one hand, and with the other smooth the map away from corner 1 toward corner 2. 'check alignment and fasten corner 2.

f) Similarly, smooth the map between corners 3 and 4, and fasten each.

Removing the Map

a) Loosen and roll up one corner of a piece of tape. Use a corner that is on the map surface.

b) Pull slowly on the rolled-up corner, pulling the tape outward, over itself.

c) Repeat for each corner.
