Freedom of Information Act & Privacy Act Programs
The Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act Division/Office is responsible for administering policies, programs, and procedures to ensure DOE compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOlA) and the Privacy Act (PA), 5 U.S.C. 552 and 5 U.S.C. 552a, respectively.
The resources on these pages are provided to aid in finding answers to questions about programs of the Department of Energy and to obtain information that is publicly available without submitting a FOlA request. If the information is not available here, submit a Freedom of Information Act request electronically.
Requesters who have submitted FOIA requests on or after December 31, 2008, may obtain the date received by the agency and the estimated completion date by clicking here. You will need to know your FOIA control number to identify your request on the listing. If your request has been transferred to a component of the Department to be processed, please contact the FOIA Service Center at the location where your request is being processed. You may access the telephone number to the appropriate FOIA Service Center at http://management.energy.gov/contact_us/foia-pa.htm
