Nevada Regional Science Bowl 2008 Sponsors
Corporate giving by organizations benefits many people in our
community, and in some cases, the benefits can last a lifetime. This is
the case with corporate donations provided to support Science Bowl, a
national initiative coordinated by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Funding from corporate donations is used to provide transportation to
the local and national competitions as well as establish prize money for
the top 12 schools. First place prize money is $5,000. The schools
invest this money in their math and science programs by purchasing
additional books and equipment and by offering college scholarships.
Corporate sponsorships also cover the costs of food for the entire
weekend, non-monetary prizes such as backpacks and trophies, T-shirts,
and hotel rooms for out-of-town teams.
