Environmental Restoration
The U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration Nevada Site Office Environmental
Restoration Project performs corrective actions for inactive contaminated sites and facilities where
U.S. Department of Energy nuclear tests and weapons experiments were conducted. These areas include the
Nevada Test Site and locations on the Nevada Test and Training Range, which includes parts of the
Tonopah Test Range.

contamination, determine the risk to the public and the environment, and act to protect or restore
natural resources adversely affected by the presence of the contamination. In addition to the corrective
