The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for guiding the Department’s effective use of information technology (IT) and for managing the Department’s IT resources.
It is the goal of the OCIO when acquiring Information Technology (IT) solutions to integrate project management, financial management, acquisition management, and quality oversight processes into a cohesive process to achieve programmatic goals.
The Office of IT Corporate Management oversees the business and information management (IM) activities for the OCIO, and manages the acquisition process of the Department's IT in accordance with Federal and Departmental Acquisition Regulations.
The consolidation of IT service delivery to the Department will be achieved by federal employees under the provisions of the Most Efficient Organization (MEO) in one of the first public/private partnerships between federal and contractor workforces. As a result of an IT competitive sourcing award, the Department's MEO and the associated subcontractor, Energy Enterprise Solutions LLC, will provide IT support services to the DOE community.
