Environmental Health Perspectives Volume 113, Number 2, February 2005
Environmental Health Perspectives February 2005 As the recent tsunami reminds us, human life on this planet is fragile and vulnerable to the vagaries of nature. Meanwhile, new evidence of the extent of problems such as global warming and ocean pollution reminds us that nature is vulnerable to us as well. Earth observing systems, described in the Focus (p. A98), may offer a means of better understanding our environment in hopes of protecting both human lives and the natural world in a more symbiotic relationship.
