Dr. John England Named Reclamation's Engineer of the Year
Reclamation's Engineer of the Year Award winner is Dr. John England of the Technical Service Center, Flood Hydrology and Meteorology Group. John has pioneered the research, development and application of new techniques to estimate extreme flood probabilities for dam safety, and has overseen their use in Reclamation's risk analysis procedures.
As a Reclamation Risk Cadre member, John is developing dam safety hydrologic risk methods with the Corps of Engineers. John chairs a Task Group that is currently writing new Federal extreme flood probability guidelines, which will have an impact on dam designs and safety assessments for Reclamation, the Corps, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
