Paperwork Reduction Act

The Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of 1995, 44 U.S.C. §§ 3501-3520, requires agencies to obtain approval from the Office of Management and Budget before requesting most types of information from the public.  "Information collections" include forms, interviews, recordkeeping requirements, and vessel and gear marking, among other categories.  The PRA requirements apply regardless of whether the agency engages in a required or a voluntary collection of information from the public.

The information presented below is intended to provide details regarding the PRA's requirements and the status of NTSB clearance requests or approvals.
