Woodbury Bulletin, Sep 10, 2008 - U.S. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R), who represents Minnesota’s sixth district, recently visited with HealthEast and Woodwinds Health Campus leaders.

HealthEast wanted to thank the congresswoman for her support on the appropriations award funded through the Labor Health and Human Services and Education bill.

The award will be used for the HealthEast Computerized Provider Order Entry project, so physicians can write their orders electronically which will help improve patient safety and help reduce medical errors.

Bachmann also stopped at the Woodwinds emergency room to present Dr. David Hale, Woodwinds ER Medical Director/Chief of Staff with a Congressional Letter which was presented on the floor of Congress recognizing Dr. Hale for receiving the 2008 Health Care Hero Award from Twin Cities Business Magazine.

Hale was named 2008 Health Care Hero for his international humanitarian work in Iraq during his two tour of duties with the Minnesota Army National Guard. He was promoted three weeks ago to Lieutenant Colonel with the National Guard.
