The Office of Transportation Disaster Assistance coordinates
public and private responsibilities in the wake of transportation disasters
for all modes of transportation covered by the NTSB. The NTSB Transportation
Disaster Assistance Team stands ready around the clock to help survivors,
families of victims, communities, and commercial carriers deal with transportation
disasters; services include family/victim support coordination, Family
Assistance Centers, forensic services, communication with foreign governments,
and inter-agency coordination.
