An outreach effort aimed at members of the DoD community not otherwise
served by the Military Criminal Investigative Organizations. This program
is designed to:
- Increase awareness about threats children face from the Internet.
- Provide a web portal to report suspicious situations.
Parents and youth should visit NetSmartz to
find out how to use the Internet safely. NetSmartz was created by the
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Boys & Girls
Clubs of America and has a wealth of educational resources and fun activities
that promote Internet safety.
Parents who have information relating to child pornography, on-line
enticement of children for sexual acts, or unsolicited obscene materials
sent to children should make a report with the NCMEC's CyberTipline.
The CyberTipline refers these reports to the appropriate law enforcement
agencies for follow-up investigation.
Web Wise Kids is a non-profit organization that we are partnering with to promote Internet safety for children. By equipping children to make wise choices on the internet, Web Wise Kids takes a proactive, fun approach against predataors. The most effective impact is made by reaching children where they spend their time - schools, homes, libraries and after-school programs
If you have any suggestions for the CyberKids Safety program or would
like to have a DCIS Special Agent give a presentation to your DoD agency,
please contact us at this e-mail link.
