Installation, Maintenance, and Repair occurs at two different times during the advanced manufacturing production cycle.

First, manufacturing Installation, Maintenance, and Repair personnel work to install and service machinery and equipment used on the factory floor to make goods and products. The goal here is to help ensure that the production process works smoothly and efficiently.

Second, once products have been sold to business or government clients or consumers, Other Installation, Maintenance, and Repair workers ensure that these products are installed properly; and then afterwards that they are serviced and repaired, as specified by the manufacturer. The goal here is to help ensure that the delivered and installed products fulfill customer requirements and performance expectations.
