December 13, 1999: The results of a survey released today showed the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's retirement service placed ahead of both the public and private sector for comparable services. OPM's Director Janice R. Lachance today announced the results of the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) for the agency's Retirement and Insurance Service - an index of 75. The ACSI is a national measure of customer satisfaction with public and private sector organizations, sponsored by Vice President Gore's National Partnership for Reinventing Government and the President's Management Council.
