Motor vehicles are the major source of air pollution in the Bay Area. The Air District is actively working to promote the use of advanced technology, low emission vehicles in the Bay Area. We administer several grant programs to help fund light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles. • Carl Moyer Program provides incentives to reduce emissions from diesel engines in heavy-duty vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 14,000 pounds or more.
