Irradiator User Training

For individuals to use a specific irradiator they must:

  • Complete the Radiation Safety for Irradiator Users training packet
  • Receive training from a "responsible individual" on the proper operation of the irradiator. The training should cover everyday use, emergency procedures, and all contents of the Radiation Safety Procedures Manual for Operation of irradiator.
  • Complete three (3) supervised uses of the irradiator
  • Be added by the Irradiator Custodian to the approved designated user list for each irradiator the individual intends to use

Note: A "responsible individual" may be the Irradiator Custodian, any designated user or a health physicist from DRS.
