There is a resurgence in the desire to go ‘back to the roots’. Oakenwood opens its doors to nurture this thought.
A visit through our ‘Monographs’ page gives access to Herb Monographs, information on using herbs to heal body and mind, where the balance of nature and man is in tune with the rhythms of the land. A visit to our pages through the ‘Woodlands’ page will give an insight into the lore of the Woodsman. These two pages give knowledge using today’s technology to pass knowledge.
A browse into our ‘Weekends’ pages gives another way of passing knowledge, a way our ancestors would have been more comfortable with, that of passing knowledge orally via our very successful weekend courses.
Oakenwood is run entirely by volunteers, all profits go directly to the project supported at that time. The ethos of Oakenwood is a fair exchange for a fair price.
Oakenwood’s current project is to help buy woodland to conserve and protect, or buy land to create a woodland, with the emphasis being to nurture and protect native British trees, wild flowers and wildlife.
