The Gulf Coast Addiction Technology Transfer Center (Gulf Coast ATTC) works through multiple consortia of educational institutions and other agencies to promote incorporation of research into addictions curricula and provides technical assistance and consultation for state agencies and community organizations in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico to facilitate workforce development and the implementation of evidence-based practices. For more information on related addiction studies and projects, visit the Addiction Research Institute (ARI) of the Center for Social Work Research at The University of Texas at Austin.
The Center for Excellence in Epidemiology offers epidemiologists and planners access to online manuals, surveys, state and local needs assessments, and other data sources on substance abuse. This site will enable providers to take advantage of the latest research on new and emerging problem drugs in assessing treatment needs.
