National Wildlife Refuge System
Southwest Region

Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas

From the verdant coastal plain of Texas to the high mesas and mountains of Arizona and New Mexico, this region has much to offer the angler. The refuges along the Gulf Coast provide excellent fishing for redfish and spotted sea trout, as well as great bird watching. Inland lakes in Texas and Oklahoma provide opportunities to land largemouth bass of trophy proportions. Move westward and find trout in the high country of New Mexico and an abundance of warm water species in the lowland refuges of western Arizona along the mighty Colorado River.
