Policy Database for Cleanups

EPA is committed to providing public access to official Agency policy, guidance, and interpretive documents. We believe the public is entitled to this information, it should be easy to find, and it should be identified as official Agency policy. This Policy Database is an interactive system designed to provide the public with online access to Agency policy documents from the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) and the EPA Regional waste and emergency response programs.

This Database contains the policy, guidance, and interpretive documents that the Agency intends to use or rely on for the implementation and enforcement of its statutes and regulations. Although these documents must be distinguishable as official agency policy, they are only a small, vital, subset of all of the documents developed by OSWER and the EPA Regional Office. Because this site is still under development, at this time you will not find all policy documents issued for these programs within this Database. We plan to continue adding past, as well as future documents, as they are identified.

Enforcement Policy and Guidance Database

Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA) provides a database of cleanup enforcement policy and guidance documents addressing the federal authority to implement cleanup and/or corrective action enforcement activity at both private and federal sites.

If you can't find a particular document in the cleanup enforcement database, the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance's (OECA) Enforcement and Compliance Docket Information Center (ECDIC) is a central facility that provides public access to regulatory, case settlement, and other policy-related information supporting the Agency's enforcement and compliance activities. As the central archive facility for all documents related to enforcement and compliance activities, ECDIC provides access to both Internet accessible documentation and older hard copy archived documents.
