Puzzle Fire ~ 2006
The Puzzle Fire burned 6,348 acres in 2006 in an area adjacent
to the area burned in the B&B Fire of 2003.
B&B Fire ~ 2003
The B&B Fire was the biggest fire in the area since 1934. Over
90,000 acres burned in the B&B Complex
Fires in 2003; nearly 40,500 acres in Mt. Jefferson Wilderness
on both the
Willamette
and Deschutes National Forests.
The Bear Butte Fire and Booth Fire both started on August 19,
2003. The fires burned together to become the B&B Complex Fires
(B&B Fire). The fires were declared contained on September 26.
