CHILD: A bin with a circle of arrows on it. We learned about it in school today.When you recycle a can, the aluminum gets melted down and makes more cans.
MOM: You’re my best teacher!

Do you have 30 seconds to talk about how we can help our community? Did you know that the average person throws away more than four pounds of garbage a day? That’s a phone book every day. When I heard that, I said - I’m gonna recycle everything I can. I mean, recycling one ton of paper saves about 20 trees. The energy saved from each recycled aluminum can will run a TV for three hours. I recycle and I’m asking you to do the same.

Recycling happens all the time, but maybe you don’t even realize it.
Release a song. They remix it. Produce a TV show. They repeat it. Make a can. You recycle it. Easy. If you have the strength to throw it away, you have the strength to recycle it. The Earth will thank you for it.
Read a paper? Recycle it. Use a bottle? Recycle it. Tight. Nearly everything you throw away could be recycled. The Earth will love you for it.
It’s simple. Every ton of paper you recycle saves about 20 trees. Every glass jar you recycle saves enough energy to light a 100-watt bulb for four hours. And, every can you recycle saves enough power to run a computer for three hours.
I recycle, and I’m asking you to recycle as well. The Earth will take care of you for it.

Erik Estrada: "You Dump It, You Drink It" Campaign
Erik Estrada, who gained fame as a motorcycle cop in the 1970s television series CHiPs, is on the airwaves helping Hispanic Americans to recycle their used motor oil. Estrada worked with EPA to produce two public service announcements that are being aired on Spanish-language radio stations in some of the country's largest cities.
