The Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
wishes to remind everyone that the end of old-fashioned
analog TV service is fast approaching. The final
date for conversion from analog to digital TV
is February 17, 2009. In support of the FCCs
outreach effort, we have included this link,
which will provide every consumer with what

2009 Public Television Digital Transition
Grant Program
These grants
assist Public Television Stations serving substantial
rural populations in transitioning to digital
broadcast television transmission, as mandated
by the Federal Communications Commission. Grant
funds may be used to acquire and install facilities
and software necessary for the transition. Grant
funds may also be used for associated engineering
and environmental studies.

2009 General Information
- Application Deadline is February 18, 2009
- Exact funding amount will be determined at a future date once a final appropriations bill has been passed. The maximum amount per public television
station is $750,000.
