Chico State Ag to Host Two Alumni Reunions

The California State University, Chico College of Agriculture announces plans to host alumni reunions at two upcoming agriculture-related events. The 9th Annual Chico State Ag Alumni reunion at the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale is set for Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, 4-7 p.m. in the Tehama District Fairgrounds cafeteria, and the 7th Annual Colusa Alumni Breakfast takes place during the Colusa Farm Show the following week on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 7 a.m. in Saint Bernadette’s Hall in Colusa.

The Red Bluff event on Jan. 30 will include a live and silent auction, no-host bar and refreshments, including grilled sausage from the Chico State Meats Laboratory. There is no charge for admission to the social.

The Colusa Farm Show Breakfast on Feb. 4 is a collaboration between the College of Agriculture, California Agricultural Leadership Foundation and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. The breakfast will include a guest speaker, Erin Fitzpatrick with Rabobank in New York, speaking about the issue of fluctuating farm crop input costs. Breakfast tickets are $25 each and can be reserved by calling the University Farm at 530-898-6343.

The alumni socials have grown in popularity each year as graduates mingle, reminisce and network with industry leaders while raising money to support scholarships and academic programs in the College of Agriculture.
